Day 13

Decided to switch it up a bit for Day 13.  I've been wanting to get into studying Loomis for anatomy so here's my first few exercises or whatever you would call them.

Day 12

Long study for Day 12.  Trying to get much better at skin tone.  Also, I experimented with HSB sliders for color selection as opposed to the color picker which always seems to distort  my perception of the color.  The HSB sliders kind of make me choose the color based on theory rather than eyeballing it and hoping to get it right.  I think I'll be incorporating quite a bit of the HSB into my method.

Bloodsports 5 - Princess Mononoke, not quite final

Going to finish this one still even though I didn't finish it by Bloodsports judging.

Days 10 and 11

The buckskin leather fabric study is from yesterday.  The fur is from today.  I've been plugging away on a few things that have deadlines coming up and it forced me to cap these studies pretty quickly which is a good thing because I need to get quicker and a bad thing because I'm not really happy with either of these images.

Day 9

I did an environment study today and Photoshop crashed on me half way through.  I started it again, it crashed again.  I don't know what the problem is but I'm calling it a day for that study.  I did some gestures this morning so that'll be my eye candy from Day 9.

Update: I may do that environment study yet - we'll see...

Update 2: I made it through without crashing... the problem was a custom brush that I had just made was killing Photoshop.  Anyway, managed to do this in my self imposed time frame.

Day 8

Quick study from LOTR movie still. Messing around with brushes.

Sketch dump!

Hogarth studies.  Chained up orc.  Anatomically weird orc guy.  Carnage (older sketch) which I was planning on illustrating in a comic book style, but might just let go or render up as a painting.  And Venom!

Day 7

Day 7 ... one week down... 51 to go. Messed around with some new brushes.  Drawing is off, I need to flip my canvas more!
